How far in advance should I book?

We recommend 24–48 hours for short-haul Asian routes and a week or more for long-haul. That time is not only for securing the aircraft — it covers flight permits, airport slots and crew assignment. Sectors with additional permit and entry paperwork, such as flights into China, need more margin than the rest. Empty legs are already-scheduled flights, so same-day booking is often possible.

How is the charter price determined?

Pricing depends on route, aircraft type, date, and passenger count. A Seoul–Tokyo one-way typically ranges from $15,000–$35,000. Contact us for an accurate quote.

How many passengers can board?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the aircraft: up to 6 on a light jet (Phenom 300), up to 8 on a super-midsize (Challenger 350) and up to 14 on a heavy jet (Global 6000). Maximum seating has to be read together with baggage and range, though — filling every seat cuts into what the aircraft can carry in payload and fuel, so a large party on a long sector usually moves up a size.

Which airports can I depart from?

Gimpo and Incheon, plus regional Korean airports including Cheongju, Muan and Yangyang; worldwide, roughly 10,000 airports are reachable. Regional airports differ in customs and immigration facilities and in operating hours, so international departures from them need checking in advance. Gimpo restricts take-offs and landings between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., which is why late-night departures are planned around Incheon, which operates 24 hours.

What is the difference between an empty leg and a standard charter?

An empty leg is a sector an aircraft is flying anyway — returning empty after a booking, or repositioning for the next one. Because the movement is already happening, the fare can be up to 90% below a standard charter, but the route and date are fixed and cannot be shaped around you. If the original flight moves, the empty leg can disappear with it.

Are there baggage restrictions?

There is no fixed piece or weight allowance the way an airline sets one. The limit is the hold volume and take-off weight of the specific aircraft, so golf bags, ski equipment and instruments all travel. Allowance and seating are linked, though — fill all 6 seats on a light jet and there is that much less left for cargo. Tell us the items and quantities when booking and we will factor them into the aircraft selection.

Can I bring my pet?

Usually yes, but the governing rule is the quarantine regulation of the destination country. Domestic sectors within Japan carry no quarantine step and are relatively straightforward; crossing borders can require vaccination records or waiting periods depending on the country, which takes preparation time. Whether the animal travels in the cabin depends on the aircraft and the number of animals — a 6-seat light jet and a 14-seat heavy jet leave very different room. Send us the route, species and count and we will confirm.

Can I request in-flight catering?

Yes. Tell us the menu and drinks before departure and they will be set up in the cabin before boarding, including special diets and allergy requirements. Preparation runs on the operating hours of the catering company at the departure airport. Requests reaching us inside our desk hours (9 a.m.–6 p.m. Korean time, weekdays) are easiest to coordinate, and anything needing a named restaurant or cooked-to-order dishes leaves more room to work with the earlier your schedule is confirmed.

What about visas and immigration?

The entry requirements themselves are the same as on any airline — the destination country sets them. What changes is where you complete the formalities. At airports with a dedicated business aviation terminal (FBO), immigration and customs are handled in a separate facility with far less waiting. Not every airport has one, and international departures from regional airports need their customs and immigration hours checked in advance.

What is the cancellation policy?

Terms are set by the operator flying the aircraft and are stated in the contract. As a general pattern, changes to timing and passenger numbers stay relatively flexible until 72 hours before departure, after which cancellation fees can apply. Empty legs are tied to the schedule of the original flight, so there is less room to change them at all.

Does Blueshift offer shared charters?

No. We arrange whole-aircraft charter as standard — 1 aircraft for your party, never seats shared with passengers you do not know. That is what allows the departure time and the passenger list to be set by you, and the aircraft to move when your schedule moves.

Can I book a flight departing from overseas?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Outbound sectors from overseas are chartered the same way. Departure is handled through the local FBO and ground handling agent, and the cars in Seoul are sequenced to the arrival as part of the same itinerary. If the arrival falls late at night or early morning, the Gimpo restriction between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. means the flight is planned into Incheon, which runs around the clock.
